As a child, I had a passion for engineering, construction, and architecture. I naturally formed this passion by simple exploration. Growing up with a single-parent, in low-income home I had to find ways to entertain myself.  Going out with friends to the movies or playing the latest video game wasn't an option for me. I had to entertain myself with whatever was lying around the house on my own while my mom did her homework as a teen mom.  I didn't have much in terms of entertainment and toys for a child so I had to get creative. This led to many hours of exploring, building, and figuring out how things worked. I learned at an early age engineering had my name written all over it. From the beginning, I remember my mother telling me to clean my room. I know what you're thinking, typical kids have toys and clothes on the floor but not me. I had projects, wood, tools, scrap parts from toys, and blueprints (aka pictures drawn with a crayon that could only be deciphered by an 8-year-old) covering my floor. It got better as I grew older; by better, I mean a cleaner room, as for the projects that are still ongoing weekly. At an early age, I began helping my grandparents fix houses. My grandpa taught me so many tips and tricks during our long hours on taking down walls and putting walls up, installing lighting and plumbing, and building many more things. From then on I was and still am motivated by this passion of engineering to obtain as much knowledge as I can get my hands on.
